Pengantar Presiden RI dan Perdana Menteri Selandia Baru pada Pertemuan Bilateral Pemerintah Indonesia dan Selandia Baru

Your Excellency, the Honorable Prime Minister Luxon, 
It’s an honor and a pleasure to meet you again, Prime Minister, following our last meeting in Peru, Lima, last year. It’s unfortunate you have a planned visit to Jakarta, but it has yet to materialize. It’s because of our side, we had pressing circumstances but we hope to see you soon in Jakarta, and now it’s a good opportunity to meet you here in Korea.

Our bilateral ties continue to deepen and broaden, and it’s under our comprehensive partnership. And, I really look forward to strengthening them further. Our bilateral trade has steadily increased over the past five years nearly 10 percent annually, but I think we should work better.

Yeah, we can do better. We should work together. On all sectors, I think we are cooperating very well. Please, you can.

Mr. President, it’s good to see you again. But, can I just say also thank you very much for all your support on the ASEAN CSP upgrade as well. We really appreciate that. And, of course, with the ASEAN CSP upgrade, RCEP, the ASEAN ANZFTA upgrade, we’ve got good mechanisms for us to do exactly what you and I talked about in Peru last year, which is how we accelerate the trading relationship between our two countries. We have very complimentary trade. And, as we talked before, whether it’s around food security, the work that you’re doing with respect to the school program, food program, we’re here to help as well. So we look forward to getting into our bilateral, and talking about some of those issues. It’ll be great. Thank you.
